How do I submit a license application through iCOLA?

Here are the steps you need to take to submit your Michigan real estate salespersons application through your iCOLA account:
1) Log in to your iCOLA account.
2) Once you are logged into your account, click on 'Apply for a New License'.
3) The three drop-down boxes should show 'Profession: Real Estate', 'License Type: Real Estate Salesperson', and 'Obtained By: Examination', then click 'Continue'.
4) Read through the application requirements to obtain a Michigan real estate license, then click 'Next'.
5) Verify your address, email address, and phone number and click 'Next'.
6) Next, you must answer the five questions asked. If you answer "Yes" to a prior felony conviction, LARA will have to review your specific case and determine if they will accept or deny your application. If you are an out-of-state resident, you must also submit a Consent to Service of Process form. If you have a sponsoring broker, you must enter their 10-digit permanent ID number. Please note, you do not need to have a sponsoring broker to submit your license application and take the state exam; however, you will not receive a real estate license until you have a sponsoring broker. If you need to submit your broker's ID number after submitting your license application, you must do so using the Employing Broker Notification form. You must also provide the school name from which you completed the 40-hour pre-license course, and the date when you completed the course. Then click 'eSignature'.
7) Next, you will have to check the box for the new application item in your cart and then click 'Pay Now'. Please note, the application fee will vary depending on when in the 3-year license cycle you are applying. The application fee may be $88, $62, or $36.
8) A pop-up will appear asking for your email address to send a confirmation email for your order. This is only optional.
9) The application fee can be paid using a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover Card. Click 'Next' to continue.
10) Input your billing address and credit card information and click 'Next'.
11) Finally, review and confirm your payment by clicking 'Pay Now'.

After your payment has been submitted, you will receive a payment confirmation.
